Dubai, 05 June 2017:  A Ford F-550 Super Duty delivery truck belonging to Al Tayer Motors, the official importer-dealer for Ford vehicles in the UAE, has driven more than a million kilometres in 2014 days, or just over five and a half years, living up to its ‘Built Tough' tagline.

Used by the dealership to transport customer vehicles to showrooms and customer deliveries, the vehicle is estimated to have made over 14,000 deliveries since it was brought into service in October 2011. The distance covered by the vehicle would equate to around 25 trips around the world.

Martin Penny, Senior Vice President-Ford at Al Tayer Motors said: “Ford commercial vehicles are among the best loved vehicles in the United States and increasingly, we are seeing them in greater numbers on UAE roads as well. Covering a million kilometres in such a relatively short period of time is a milestone achievement and further proof of their reliability and durability.”

Transportation Manager at the dealership, Bassam Shadid and his team are proud of the achievement and stated that the Ford F-550 is a very dependable vehicle. “We have taken good care of it, maintained it well and it has never let us down.”

The award-winning F-Series has long been America's favourite truck and most recently won the US & World Report News award for ‘2017 Best Truck Brand'.
Now in its 69th year, Ford F-Series, from the light-duty F-150, and F-250 to F-550 Super Duty pickups and chassis cabs, has been the best-selling truck in America for 40 consecutive years. It has reigned as the best-selling vehicle in America for 35 consecutive years.

Ford's legendary F-Series continues to innovate – thanks to breakthrough towing technology, enhanced performance with updated powertrains and SYNC® Connect. All-new segment-first features such as BLIS® with trailer tow technology make driving and work situations easier and more comfortable.

From improved power to upgraded connectivity, the 2017 F-Series line-up is the toughest, smartest, most capable ever.

The F-550 is among a wide line-up of commercial vehicles sold by Al Tayer Motors such as the F-150, the popular F-150 Raptor, F-350, Ranger as well as vans, including Econoline and Transit.
