La Martina Argentina Polo Cup, the final leg of the Maserati Centennial Polo Tour concludes with a thrilling final in Dubai

Dubai, November 19, 2014 - On Friday the 14th of November the last of the five Polo events that composed the celebrated “Maserati Centennial Polo Tour”, organized by La Martina, official supplier of the most prestigious tournaments worldwide, was concluded.

The seventh edition of the La Martina Argentina Polo Cup presented by Maserati saw great teams playing including Desert Palm, Maserati, American Express and Baha Mar. More than 65 players from 12 countries participated in the tournament, which was played under perfect conditions with clear blue skies.

Staged at Dubai's Desert Palm Hotel and overseen by Mr. Ali Al Bwardy, the Chairman of prominent Group, AlBwardy Investment, the fifth and final leg of the Maserati Centennial Polo Tour culminated in a thrilling final with the Desert Palm team prevailing over the Baha Mar team in a close score of 6-5. The tournament also boasted of an impressive set of sponsors that includes the Embassy of Argentina, American Express Middle East, Fortnum & Mason Dubai, Baha Mar, the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz, African & Eastern, Esquire Middle East, Stylist Arabia and Equestrio Arabia.

Guests attending the event included HE Ruben Eduardo Caro, Ambassador of Argentina to the UAE, and Hossam Hosni, General Manager Luxury Auto, Al Tayer Group amongst prominent dignitaries, business community members, socialites, polo enthusiasts and style icons.

The memorable event paid perfect homage to the royal sport of Polo with the ambiance being rife with fashion, glamour, gourmet food and the finest beverages from African & Eastern leaving the attendees in delighted spirits! In true style that is synonymous with La Martina and Polo, the tournament further celebrated fashion and style by conducting various Style stakes competitions to honor the best dressed guests. There were three winners in total, Best Dressed Gent, Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Couple each winning themselves exciting prizes including luxury hotel stays, spa treatments and shopping vouchers from La Martina.

There were numerous other activities taking place to round off a thoroughly enjoyable day. From a delectable brunch buffet inspired by Latin cuisine, afternoon tea and ice cream from Fortnum & Mason and a nacho bar to face painting and balloon twisting for the little ones, there was something to do for all who attended.
