UAE, February 24, 2014 – The Dubai Smart Government (DSG) Department has announced that its Jumeirah-based Training Centre organized 232 training courses for 2,628 employees from 42 Dubai-based government entities throughout 2013.

The facility trained Dubai's government employees on the various systems, applications and shared services provided by DSG to manage their administrative requirements and resources and enhance their operational efficiencies. These courses, which were also attended by 40 other semi-government entities, included workshops on corporate intelligence and information security. The trainee satisfaction rate was at 95 percent in terms of responsiveness to the needs and expectations of participants.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General, Dubai Smart Government, said: “These training courses and workshops contribute to the development of the professional and practical competencies of government employees. We are committed to ensuring that they complement Dubai's march to excellence and the focus on a ‘smart' transformation to technology-enabled governance. We aim to empower government employees in handling all the applications, systems and common services provided by DSG. We shall achieve this by providing the best tools for government employees to hone their skills and potentials and overcome work challenges with full optimism while staying updated with the latest upgrades to the systems that support their activities.”

“DSG's Training Centre is a major addition to our training capabilities for government employees, as its vast training halls can accommodate a large group and facilitate multiple workshops and training courses simultaneously,” said H.E. Bin Humaidan.

“At the end of every training course, we conducted a comprehensive assessment process to determine the effectiveness of delivery and review trainees' feedbacks. Based on the feedback we gathered, we worked towards further enhancing our programs to best meet the various needs and requirements of participants. This aligns with our aspirations to achieve the objectives of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 which aims to achieve government excellence and create an integrated knowledge-based society,” he added.

Bin Humaidan further affirmed that the DSG Department will continue to organize new training courses in accordance with current needs and requirements. He revealed plans to conduct new courses on smart government and information security throughout 2014, based on feedback received from government employees.

All training courses conducted by the department in 2013 covered 33 of DSG's systems, including those for Human Resources, Supply Chain, Payroll, Financials, Asset Life Management, Business Intelligence, Messaging and Collaboration, Government Correspondence, Government Services Bus, eHost and eSupport. All successful trainees received attendance certificates attesting to their professional efficiencies.
