UAE Media Council Quotes - Emirati Women's Day 2025

His Excellency Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, affirmed that Emirati women continue achieving pioneering accomplishments, positioning themselves as ambassadors of the UAE's success across sectors. Their achievements have been recognised by local, regional and international media, reinforcing the UAE's soft power globally.

Al Shehhi said: 'The distinguished contributions of Emirati women across sectors, supported by the unlimited backing of our leadership, have consolidated the UAE's pioneering global position. Their experience has become a reference point for regional and international organisations, including UN entities, as a model for translating women's capability, leadership, innovation and creativity into tangible outcomes that advance sustainable development.'

He emphasised that this model would not have been possible without the continuous support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak 'Mother of the Nation,' who has strategically empowered women across all fields, enabling them to attain leading positions locally and globally.

He added: 'The designation of the Emirati Women's Day 2025 theme, 'Hand in Hand, We Celebrate 50 Years,' reinforces the comprehensive development messages of the Year of Community and marks 50 years since the establishment of the General Women's Union in 1975. It affirms the partnership of Emirati women—past, present and future—in empowering society and advancing sustainable growth.'

Her Excellency Maitha Majed Al Suwaidi, CEO of Strategy and Media Policy at UAE Media Council, confirmed that Emirati women's achievements over five decades reflect the practical implementation of a comprehensive strategic vision established by the country's leadership and supported by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak.

She said Emirati women are essential partners in envisioning, planning and delivering the UAE's ambitious future, actively contributing to societal advancement. Through integrated policies across vital future sectors—particularly media—they continue to set benchmarks for achievement and excellence.

Al Suwaidi highlighted society's confidence in Emirati women's ability to build on this legacy of partnership, contributing to achievements that will accelerate the realisation of national visions, including We the UAE 2031 and the UAE Centennial 2071, while enhancing the UAE's global position.
