The Cup displays world-class, home-grown Emirati equestrian talent which is deep-rooted in the nation's culture. A total of 58 of the UAE's most talented show-jumpers will participate in the three day event.

Alongside the competition, the Cup's Equestrian Village, the family-centred activity zone which is free for guests, includes games and competitions for children as well pony riding, competitive fun races, face painting and horse-shoe throwing. In addition, over the weekend, event attendees can enjoy fabulous music and delicious food from some of the best food trucks in the capital.

The Cup is organised by FBMA with platinum sponsors, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), Abu Dhabi Media (ADM), and Longines. Gold sponsors are Al-Shira'aa Stables, Al Forsan, Telecom partner Etisalat, Strategic partners UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF) and Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) and supporting partners Healthpoint and Etihad Airways.

“Etisalat's participation in this prestigious sports event falls within our ongoing strategy to support community initiatives, especially the ones targeted at Emirati women. We are committed to providing Emirati women with support on all levels related to health and wellbeing,” said H.E. Sultan Al Dhaheri, Acting General Manager, Etisalat Abu Dhabi.

He added that Etisalat is very pleased to be participating this year as a main partner, as part of our efforts to support the vision of the wise leadership and the UAE Vision 2021 that calls for women's empowerment.

Following his win he commented “I have been preparing myself and my horse the whole season for the FBMA International Show  Jumping Cup and I am pleased our hard work has paid off. When you select a horse for a competition such as this you are selecting a team mate and you have to work with two hearts together. I have been riding for 9 years, competing for 6 and I look forward to success in many more competitions to come.”

The FBMA Show Jumping Cup is a platform for young riders to be inspired and compete at a high international level. Young Emirati riders have particularly shone this year.

Eisa Omran Al Owais, 14, from Sharjah, who was placed on the first and second days of the Cup said “I am proud to represent my country in the FBMA Show Jumping Cup this year and pleased with my results. Now I start preparing for next year when I move to Junior level. Horse riding is very important to my family and I have been inspired by my father and brother to be the best I can.
