“Natural Alliance” Between World Class Gamers and World Class Technology

Dubai UAE, November 21, 2015:  SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), a global leader in flash storage solutions, is acting as a key sponsor for Dubai's first ever Games Week, taking place at the Dubai Mall from 16 – 21 November 2015.

With a history of gaming alliances across a number of consoles and games – including its flagship gaming drive, the SanDisk Extreme Pro® SSD – the tie up with Games Week is a perfect opportunity. As graphics and game play increasingly become real time and real world, the need for immediate response and multitasking is vital, a field where SanDisk has consistently led the gaming community through performance, reliability and value.

With up to 1TB-Class of capacity, the SanDisk Extreme PRO® SSD provides the space to load and run games and graphics-intensive applications blazingly fast, transforming any PC or console into a serious gaming machine.

Bradley Bennett, SanDisk Regional Marketing Manager for the Middle East and Africa, described the partnership as a natural alliance. “This is an excellent partnership for us both,” he said. “We have helped to expand horizons and provide new potential by making games more accessible, more realistic and more immediate. Dubai Games Week is an excellent chance for the best gamers around to show their skills and us to show our innovation. We're delighted to be part of this inaugural event,” he added.

The interactive show, hosted by Emaar Retail, in association with Reel Cinemas, Dubai Ice Rink and SEGA Republic features some of the latest releases including Star Wars: Battlefront, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, Need for Speed, Guitar Hero Live, Mortal Kombat X and knockout competitions such as FIFA 15.

It is designed to be – more than anything – memorable and fun, said John Lacey, Founder of Power League Gaming and Executive Producer of Games Week.

“This week is very much a celebration of gaming and the passion that surrounds it,” he said. “We have some highly skilled players who are pitting their skills against each other in a very public arena, some serious enthusiasts who want to know the tips and hints behind the games and tens of thousands of people who just want to witness some great gaming.

“And for us, the support of SanDisk is a real bonus. To have such an important and respected name in the gaming field gives even more weight to the event. It's fantastic to have them on board.”
