Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 27 January 2023: Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) wouldn't be complete without its legendary raffles that give shoppers opportunities to win big. From gold to cars to cash and more, over the last 28 editions DSF has quite literally changed the lives of thousands of winners. This year is no exception. A total of 100 lucky shoppers are taking home a collective 25 kilograms of gold from the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG) raffles this DSF, and there are still chances to win before the festival comes to a close on 29 January.

Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman of Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, said: 'Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group is proud to be part of Dubai's iconic annual shopping festival. Since 1996, Dubai Shopping Festival has been an annual celebration that brings people together, and our group has been supporting the festival since its inception, providing thousands of chances for shoppers to win. Not only was this year's DSF another chance to experience the exceptional in our city, it also showcased Dubai's leadership in gold and jewellery retail.'

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said: 'Opportunities to win are an integral part of Dubai Shopping Festival, which was created to enhance the city's retail proposition and offer leisure and entertainment experiences for residents and visitors alike. Today, the festival plays its part in supporting Dubai's economic and tourism development goals and our partners, like Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group, are vital to its success and longevity.”

Some of the lucky recipients of 250g of gold shared stories of their success and what they plan to do with their winnings.

Katerina Vayou from Ukraine
“In the beginning, I was skeptical, because I thought it was unlikely that I would win something. Once I received the prize and I held it in my hands, I realized it was real. I was simultaneously shocked and pleased. Having two small children, I will convert this prize into money and invest in their futures or purchase items they wish to own. I just wanted to say it was probably the best phone call I have ever had. Hopefully, I will win something else at DSF next year.'

Thurein from Myanmar:
“Initially, I dismissed the fact that I won because I was half asleep when I got the call. It took them calling me again in the morning for me to realize that I had won some gold. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who organised this wonderful raffle, and everyone who contributed to providing us with this wonderful gift. The prize went to my wife, who will take care of it. A happy wife makes a happy husband.'

Nilesh Updadhyay from India:
“To win something like this was completely out of the blue for me. We were extremely excited when we received the initial phone call, in fact excited is an understatement. All of the organisers of this raffle deserve a big thank you. This prize will be kept and used in the long run, whether it is sold or converted to money we are not sure yet, but it is a good long-term investment.'

Fatima Zimbi from UAE:
When I learned that I won, I was extremely happy. I am going to use this prize to make my kids happy and buy them lots of toys and gifts.'

Winner Angelina's mother from India
“We were all very excited to have something like this. I want to give my thanks to the UAE and to everyone that took part in organising it. We are going to be using this prize to convert into money and use it as a down payment for a one bedroom apartment for me and my daughters. Thank you again for this opportunity.”

Entering the DGJG Raffle is easy, simply spend over AED 500 on gold jewellery at participating outlets to get one entry ticket. Spend over AED 500 on diamond and pearl jewellery and get two tickets for the raffle for a better chance to win. Shoppers have until 29 January to enter.

Shop, win and be entertained with the 28th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival until 29 January 2023 with incredible deals, innovative events, world-class entertainment and life-changing prizes. Featuring the ultimate retail therapy from a wide range of homegrown and global brands as well as live concerts, outdoors markets, pop-up dining and more, this year's DSF experience is not to be missed.
