Enjoy year-long sunshine on clean, uncrowded beaches. This is not
'tourist-brochure-speak'. Dubai and the other Emirates are home to some
beautiful stretches of sand and surf. Contact
the water sports
clubs in town for qualified tuition in windsurfing, water-skiing, sailing and
even scuba diving! There is plenty of activity on the beach on Fridays (the weekly holiday)
with beach volleyball, jet skiing, windsurfing and any other water-sport you can think of.

Contact your tour operator for organised deep sea
fishing tours and paragliding! And while you are here, it wouldn't hurt to respect
local customs and traditions. Beach-wear is fine for both men and women on the beach.
You would be advised to change into casual, everyday wear before you leave
the beach. Generally speaking, modest attire is recommended for men and women.

Amusement Arcades
Soaring temperatures during summer and cold desert winds during
winter are ideal for outings to cool temperature-controlled amusement arcades.
At the Magic Planet (Deira
City Centre - refer map) you can play golf, try bowling
and test your skills on the latest Nintendo games as your children romp in a purpose-built
play area or opt for any of the fun rides. The latest amusement arcade in town is the
Encounter Zone (Wafi Shopping Mall, Karama) where spine-chilling encounters
await you at The Chamber. We would also recommend the Fantasy Kingdom at the
Al Bustan Centre (off the Al Ittihad Road). An imaginatively designed play-area, the
Fantasy Kingdom ranks as one of the best in Dubai.
The city boasts of two ice-rinks at the Al Nasr Leisureland (Karama)
and at the Galleria (Hyatt Regency). Refer map. Dubai's
amusement arcades are usually attached to major malls -
