Q	Mr. Sunil, what is the procedure for a Christian applying for a divorce in the UAE if ‎he has married in a church in India? (Posted on 12/12/2006)
A	The UAE courts will apply the law of the husband's country at the time of divorce. If ‎both spouses agree, however, they can apply to the court to apply the UAE's divorce ‎law, in which case the courts will apply Sharia law. Sharia allows the two spouses to ‎divorce on mutually agreed conditions.
