    Airblue Receives its First A321neo

    14, October 2021:  Airblue Limited, the private Islamabad-based airline, has taken delivery of its first A321neo aircraft. It marks an important step in Pakistan’s aviation journey, making Airblue the first operator of an Airbus neo aircraft in the country. The airline currently operates an all Airbus fleet of nine A320 Family aircraft.  Airblue’s A321neo, on lease from GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) is equipped with CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines.     Governments' Response to Delta Variant Slams August Domestic Traffic Demand

    2 October 2021:   The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that the recovery in air travel decelerated in August compared to July, as government actions in response to concerns over the COVID-19 Delta variant cut deeply into domestic travel demand.  Because comparisons between 2021 and 2020 monthly results are distorted by the extraordinary impact of COVID-19, unless otherwise noted all comparisons are to August 2019, which followed a normal demand pattern.   • Total demand for air travel in August 2021 (measured in revenue passenger kilometers or RPKs) was down 56.0% compared to August 2019.     Airbus to Deliver U.S.- Completed Commercial Aircraft with Sustainable Aviation Fuel

    Sept. 23, 2021 – Airbus will start delivering all aircraft from its U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, Alabama with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on board later this year. The initiative is a further step toward fulfilling Airbus’ commitment to carbon-neutral growth in the aviation sector. Airbus has reached an agreement with Signature Flight Support to supply SAF to its Mobile facility.     July Passenger Traffic Boost, but Well Below Pre-COVID Levels

    02, September 2021:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that both international and domestic travel demand showed significant momentum in July 2021 compared to June, but demand remained far below pre-pandemic levels.     Looming Cash Crisis Threatens Airlines

    United Arab Emirates,  October 07, 2020:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) warned that the airline industry will burn through $77 billion in cash during the second half of 2020 (almost $13 billion/month or $300,000 per minute), despite the restart of operations.     United Arab Emirates,  September 30, 2020:  The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets in August showing that improvement remains slow amid insufficient capacity.
