    Rashid Hospital becomes the first in Dubai to implement sacral nerve stimulation technique.

    United Arab Emirates, Dubai, June 20, 2018:   Rashid Hospital becomes the first in Dubai to implement sacral nerve stimulation known as InterStim technique for the treatment of fecal incontinence and chronic constipation. Fecal incontinence is the inability to control bowel movements. Many factors can cause this condition such as nerve or muscle damage. Some causes of nerve or muscle damage can be due to childbirth, constant straining during bowel movements, spinal cord injury or stroke.     DHA Hospitals becomes first in the Emirate to use clip technology by angiography for valve repair of heart patients.

    United Arab Emirates, Dubai, June 10, 2018:   The Dubai Heart team consisting of cardiologists from Dubai and Rashid Hospital conducted the first MitraClip Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair by angiography in Dubai for an 81-year-old elderly patient with a leaky mitral valve.  The MitraClip device is used for treatment of people with mitral regurgitation (MR), a serious, progressive heart disease in which the mitral valve does not close properly, allowing blood to flow backward into the heart, this causes shortness of breath, fatigue and if left untreated can ultimately lead to heart failure and death.
