    Dubai Customs uncovers luggage theft at Dubai International Airport

    Dubai, UAE, January 15, 2019:   Dubai Customs arrested a passenger, of an Arab nationality, with his girlfriend, while attempting to steal passengers’ suitcases at Dubai International Airport.  The seizure started in response to reports of luggage disappeared at the arrival hall. The airport terminal was bustling with activity during the Christmas period with thousands of passengers travelling to and from Dubai.  Ibrahim Al Kamali, director of passenger operations at Dubai Customs commented: “We received reports of disappeared luggage.     Saudi Visa Application Process in Dubai Restricted to Holders of UAE Residence Permits

    January 13, 2019:  Foreign nationals who are not residents of the United Arab Emirates can no longer apply for visas to Saudi Arabia through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai.    Foreign nationals who are not residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) can no longer apply for visas to Saudi Arabia through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai.  Although no official announcement has been made, this information was conveyed to Fragomen verbally by a representative of the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai – VFS Tasheel International.  Background Previously, foreign nationals applying for Saudi visas could do so through the Saudi visa application centre in Dubai even if they were not residents in the UAE.

    Dubai Customs thwarts attempt to smuggle 5m Captagon pills

    Dubai, UAE, January 12, 2019:  Cooperation between different customs departments and good planning have led to thwarting an attempt to smuggle large number of Captagon pills at Jebel Ali & Tecom Customs Center, just a few days before 2019 unfolds.
