    Ministry of Climate Change and Environment Signs MoU with Food Security Centre - Abu Dhabi

    Abu Dhabi - UAE, January 18, 2017:  The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Food Security Centre - Abu Dhabi on the promotion of food security in the United Arab Emirates.     92% of millennials in the GCC believe climate change is a real threat to the world

    Dubai, 17th January 2017:  A Recent YouGov Study has found that millennials in the GCC are increasingly concerned about the effects of global warming on the climate and its damaging impact in the future.  YouGov invited millennials aged from 18 to 29 residing in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, to voice their opinions on climate change.     Dubai-UAE: 10 January, 2017:  The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) announced the expenditure of the entire amount of its five endowment funds estimated at AED49 million in 2016. AMAF’s endowment funds are categorized under Islamic affairs, social affairs, healthcare, education, and righteousness and piety.  The Islamic affairs endowment fund ranked first in expenditure - disbursing AED41.3 million during 2016, representing approximately 84 percent of the overall budget for the year.     Dubai, December 28, 2016:  Emirates Post Group’s Ramool Sorting Centre, which handles incoming and outgoing mail from across the UAE, has sorting machines that are capable of handling large or odd-size magazines and other printed publications. The region’s most advanced mail sorting centre continues to be a beehive of activity, driven by the increasing population of the UAE and a robust business sector. Magazines and brochures form a large component of the mail sorted at the Ramool Sorting Centre.     Dubai, UAE, 24 December 2016:  Dubai saw a 11 per cent surge in the total volume of traded goods in the first nine months of 2016, rising as high as 70.82 million tons of commodities. Imports had the lion’s share at AED 594 billion (46.81 million tons and 12% increase), while exports and re-exports accounted for AED 109 billion (11.84 million tons and 8% increase) and AED 249 billion (12.17 million tons and 10.5% increase), respectively.     Dubai, UAE, December 21, 2016:   Dubai Customs recently launched the Drug Smart Encyclopaedia, the latest innovation by the Customs Training Centre at Dubai Customs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Federal Police School in Sharjah. The encyclopaedia is the first of its kind worldwide, and includes all types of drugs illustrated by information, images and videos, with examples of different types of seizures, drug prices and ways to tackle drug trafficking.
