    Egypt, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen must produce certificates of analysis of pesticide residues for produce not already on list by May 15 Dubai-UAE: 24 April, 2017 – The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) has banned imports of certain vegetables and fruits from select countries with effect from May 15, 2017 as those products have been found to contain pesticide residues in excess of permissible limits. The counties that will be impacted by the ban include Egypt, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen.  The maximum permitted levels of pesticide residues in foods are stipulated by regulatory bodies in the UAE.     CRA Managed Increased Demand for Spectrum Licenses & Frequencies in 2016

    Number of spectrum licences issued up by 145%, frequency assignments by 117%, type approvals requests remained unchanged    Doha, April 18, 2017: In 2016, the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) met full and diverse range radiocommunication spectrum needs for the State of Qatar issuing a total of 4,059 (up by 145% from 1,654 licenses in 2015) spectrum licenses during the year. The number of frequencies assigned also increased significantly to 2,538 (up by 117% from 1,167 in 2015).Type approval certificates issued for radio and telecommunications terminal equipment (RTTE) remained relatively unchanged at 1,114 (from 1,212 in 2015).  In 2016 CRA also finalized the National Frequency Allocation Plan (NFAP) with appropriate consideration to planning of projects in sectors that are critical to Qatar’s economy. more
