The Two Hearts, One Wish campaign first launched in 2012 and was so popular, attracting 4,363 entries, that Bebelac Junior has announced it will be running the campaign for a second year. Parents from the UAE and across the GCC are invited to share their wishes and dreams for their children from 1st May until 31st June, 2013 and the Bebelac Junior initiative will grant a total of eight wishes following a public vote.
The brand surveyed an active community of approximately 25,000 moms with young children on its Bebecare Facebook page asking what do you wish for your child every day?
The research found that mothers across the region wish for simple pleasures for their children, as 18% of mothers say that their number one wish for their child is to go outside and breathe fresh air every day, while 17% want their child to enjoy a peaceful sleep. Smiles (5%) and feeling satisfied after eating (18%) were also mentioned, and nearly half the mothers, 45%, wished for their child learn something new each day.
A healthy, happy baby is naturally the most important thing for a mother, for with 70% saying having a healthy child is the most important thing to them and 22% saying their child's happiness the most important thing.
The mothers also shared their favourite moments of the day with their child. More than 21% said they most looked forward to playing with their children each day, followed by bed time (15%), playing with other children (13%), going for a walk (12%), bath time (12%), and their child learning something new (12%).
One mother commented: “Seeing my child smile at me at bedtime, after a long day, reassures me that I'm doing a good job and all is well with the world”.
Two Hearts, One Wish campaign spokesperson, and UNICEF-certified Breastfeeding Specialist and registered nurse Abeer Esawi commented: “It's a wonderful thing for mothers to spend quality time with their children, and our research has found that often it's the little things that they most look forward to. What parent doesn't love their child smiling up at them or knowing that their baby is enjoying a peaceful sleep?
“The bond between mother and child is truly incredible and we are delighted to announce the start date of the second Two Hearts, One Wish – an initiative that aims to perfectly encapsulate the love and happiness of the mother-child relationship by granting a mother's wish for her child.”
Bebelac Junior also runs a dedicate care line, Bebecare, where parents can phone in 24/7 with their queries and receive expert advice from highly trained healthcare professionals who are also parents themselves. Abeer Esawi is one of the professionals who staffs Bebecare and responds to parents' queries.
While the Bebecare care line is there to advise parents and reassure them, the Two Hearts One Wish campaign promotes the joys of parenthood by encouraging parents to share their wishes for their children and has the simple aim of fulfilling these wishes making as many children happy as possible.
The Two Hearts One Wish campaign will run from the 1st of May till the 31st of June and a total of eight wishes will be fulfilled. Parents can submit their wishes for their child via Facebook (www.facebook.com/bebecare.me), or at participating stores, including Carrefour in the UAE, from the 1st May onwards. A total of eight wishes will be chosen by the public and fulfilled by Bebelac Junior.
