Highlighting the common humanitarian values in both Arabic and Spanish poetry, the event included participations from Emirati poet Ali Al Shaaali, Founder and Director – Dar Al Hudhud- House for Publishing and Distribution, and Vice chairman of the Emirates Publishers Association. Spanish poet and writer, and Spanish literature teacher Manuel Ruiz Amezcua, also participated in the event. The night included poetry readings in Arabic and Spanish, accompanied by musical compositions by both poets.

Al Shaali and Amezcua recited a selection of Arabic and Spanish Poems, including Gafas (glasses), Masaccio, Condolencia (condolences), Toronja (bitter oranges), El Instante Eterno (the eternal moment), Lo Que Veran Los Otros (what would others see), Enterrad Bein A Nuestros Muertos (bury our dead well) Estar Contigo (to be with you), and Recuerdo Danado (a painful memory).

The poetry evening comes as part of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library's continuous efforts to bring together cultures and introduce young generations to local and international pioneers of culture, literature, and poetry.
