Dubai, UAE – March 17, 2023:  Celebrating the World Poetry Day on March 21st, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library (MBRL) is partnering with Hudhud Publishing & Distribution and the Embassy of Spain in the UAE to organise the “The Arabic & Spanish Poem” poetry event next Tuesday. The upcoming event will be presented by Emirati poet Ali Saif Al Shaali, Founder and Director of Hudhud Publishing & Distribution and vice chairman of the board of the Emirates Writers Union, along with the Spanish poet Manuel Ruiz Amezcua, the “Poet of ideas”, and described as a “realistic, social poet”, is a writer and teacher of literature in Paisia secondary schools, and other institutions in Gian, Granada.

MBRL invites poetry and literature enthusiasts to attend the event, which addresses the shared human values between the Arab and Spanish cultures. Moreover, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy the musical pieces played while Al Shaali and Amezcua read a selection of their poetry in both Arabic and Spanish.
MBRL's celebration of the World Poetry Day comes in line with UAE's vision to promote linguistic diversity, advocate for coexistence among peoples, and build bridges of communication between the various cultures. Additionally, these efforts highlight the importance of introducing new generations to local and international intellectuals and creative figures who have deeply enriched literature, knowledge, and culture, celebrating their role in preserving cultural heritage, advancing the Arabic language, and supporting other international languages, while offering endangered languages more opportunities to be used for expression.
