The solutions will cater to massive public safety and smart city projects in Saudi Arabia and the UAE

DUBAI- October 7, 2019:  Nesma Telecom & Technology Co. Ltd. (Nesma), a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia-based multinational conglomerate Nesma Holding, announced its plans to provide multi-mode advanced mission critical communication technologies of Hytera for public safety and smart city projects in Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other GCC countries. 

Nesma has partnered with radio transceivers and radio systems manufacture Hytera to introduce mission critical communication solutions for public safety and smart city projects in the region. Hytera is one of the world's leading professional mobile radio communication solutions provider with presence in over 40 countries. 

Nesma is participating at GITEX Technology Week as part of its expansion plans in the region catering to wide-ranging projects related to smart cities, mission critical communication, public safety, power systems and energy service technologies.

Nesma is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracting company and systems integrator in the fields of energy and communication infrastructure. Nesma provides state-of-the-art turnkey projects and customized solutions to meet needs of its customers.

After outstanding performance in the Saudi market, Nesma has huge plans for UAE and other GCC markets in the upcoming years, considering the rapid increase in energy demand and development of communication technologies, such as the introduction of 5G technologies. 

Speaking on the sidelines of the GITEX, Mr. Salah Sami Al-Sunaid, CEO of Nesma Telecom & Technology, said, “We are happy to bring the next-generation technology solutions to Saudi Arabia, the UAE and other GCC countries for all of our services especially in the area of smart cities verticals. “In the past few years, Nesma has been focusing in the Saudi Arabian market and made its breakthrough in Bahraini market by securing several electrical substation projects this year. We are working on expanding our business to cover the UAE market as the next step in our GCC expansion plan in the coming years,” he added. 

Speaking about the partnership with Hytera, Mr. Al-Sunaid said, “Hytera is a global technological leader for providing critical communication products and services with cutting-edge technologies. Nesma has very strong foothold in Saudi Arabia with experience of delivering sophisticated projects of multiple sectors, predominantly communication and energy infrastructure. The partnership between Nesma and Hytera will localize these advanced technologies with our involvement to deliver the solutions at the highest quality.”

“We are proud to be a key player in this market, which witnesses a growing demand for critical communications, energy solutions and public safety technologies such as hand-held units and mobile radio systems. This will create more job opportunities in the Saudi market and add value with to the entire GCC and MENA region with state-of-the-art technologies in key areas,” he elaborated. 

Nesma successfully delivered larger infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia in the fields of energy and communication infrastructure with major clients such as Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology; Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu (RCJY), Saudi Ports Authority, The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, King Abdullah Port, Saudi electricity company, National Grid, ARAMCO, MARAFIQ and National Energy Services Company (Tarshid). 

According to market forecast in 2019, Saudi Arabia's spending on critical communication is valued around USD 1 billion and it is around USD 3 billion for the MENA region. Furthermore, the future has high demand not just in supplying products, but in technology as well.   

Nesma Telecom and Technology is owned by Nesma Holding, a privately-owned Saudi Arabian conglomerate. The company maintains an active international presence through several joint ventures and partnerships regionally and globally.
