Dubai, UAE: 13 April 2017 – LG Electronics (LG) introduced its new line-up of OLED signage at its inaugural LG Signage Design Summit last night. Featuring the open-frame OLED signage, the 88-inch Ultra-Stretch display and the In-Glass wallpaper OLED, the new collection of display products is now set to transform the once static commercial design industry into a visually dynamic and highly engaging sector that is driven by creative excellence.

Held at the Armani Hotel at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE, the LG Signage Design Summit was conceived to showcase how design and display converge as well as highlight how LG is the forerunner for this change. The event welcomed a plethora of seasoned professionals that consisted of designers, architects, engineers, contractors, retailers and experience creators across the region to witness the unveiling of the new OLED line-up of products that has the potential to redefine the architectural landscape in Dubai and across the region.

“We are extremely pleased at the response that we have received today at the first LG Signage Design Summit with the launch of our OLED solutions for commercial designers,” said Kevin Cha, President, LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa. “This launch marks a new era for professionals within the commercial design industry opening up new opportunities to captivate audiences and engage potential customers by transforming inanimate spaces into interactive landmarks.” ‘

The new line-up of OLED signage feature a variety of benefits that push the boundaries of a designer's creativity and artistry. OLED technology enables screens to emit light without the need for backlighting for impeccable images with the deepest possible blacks and lifelike colors whilst providing wider viewing angles than conventional backlit displays.

The next generation of Flexible Open Frame OLED signage empowers designers to alter the curvature of their installations in both landscape and portrait. The curvature of the screen can also be changed even after being installed allowing for both convex and concave displays.

For a more immersive experience, LG now offers the 88-inch Ultra Stretch digital signage that features a 32:9 aspect ratio images in addition to its 86-inch Ultra Stretch signage. These can render fine details and is the ideal signage solution for dining establishments, financial institutions, kiosk displays and more.

Furthermore, designed and engineered with dual-sided ultra-slim OLED panels in the glass pane, LG's In-Glass wallpaper OLED signage enables businesses to utilize signage in their space as effectively as possible whether it is for boutiques, art galleries or any business that desires a refined feel to their interior décor.

The summit featured a variety of presentations and panel discussions with speakers that included: Kang-Heui Cha, Head of Home Entertainment Design Lab, LG Electronics; Jazia Al Dhanhani, CEO, Dubai Design and Fashion Council; John Bricker, Creative Director and Principal (New York), Gensler; and more.

At the summit, LG also officially launched the region's first-ever LG Signage Design Competition for architects and creative professional designers across the region to challenge the concept of artistic designs within new and existing commercial spaces.

The competition features four award categories that include the: OLED Signage Design Award; Ultra Stretch Signage Design Award; Dubai Dream Signage Design and; Vertical Vision Signage Design Award.

Competition entrants would be required to submit design proposals using LG's flexible open frame OLED and ultra-stretch LCD digital signage solutions across the aforementioned categories for the opportunity to win cash prize worth US $25,000 per category.

The deadline for the submissions for the LG Signage Design competition is 23rd of May 2017, followed by winner announcements in July 2017.
