Dubai – UAE, 15 March 2017 - Mashreq Bank, the leading financial institution in the UAE, strengthens its position as a pioneer in customer centric innovations, by launching the first ever green energy mobile ATM vehicle in the region.

The new mobile vehicle is the perfect solution to access ATM related services by customers during events and trade shows. The vehicle has a custom fabricated Mercedes Benz Sprinter, and is the first ATM vehicle to comply with the new international security standards.

The key feature of this innovation is the use of solar power and battery solutions that controls the ATM machine and air-conditioning up to 12 hours. It includes 6 solar panels, producing 900 watts of energy for charging the machine during daylight hours. The vehicle also features digital displays promoting innovative banking solutions.

Aref Al Ramli, Head of Digital Banking at Mashreq Bank commented, “Mashreq is proud to be the first bank to implement the green energy mobile ATM on wheels in the region. We are responsible towards the community through our products, services and policies and to a sustainable environment. These innovative ideas come as part of the bank's ongoing efforts to drive corporate responsibility and sustainability to the wellbeing of the community and to make a difference to the world we live in. We deliver innovations to make banking more accessible, easy and enjoyable for our customers”.

The ATM vehicle is fitted with the latest security features including; run flat tyres, access controls, armouring and GPS tracking. It also act as a backup to the ATM services if there are any disruption of ATMs at any of the banks' branches.

The mobile ATM has successfully launched at Dubai's music events, at Guns N' Roses and Bryan Adams concerts.
