Dubai, Wednesday, 31st January 2018:   Lebanese superstar Elissa, one of the most recognised artistes in the Arab world, will perform a special concert for Global Village guests on Friday, 2nd February 2018, starting at 9:00 pm at the Main Cultural Stage. Elissa has been brought to the region's leading family destination for culture, shopping and entertainment in cooperation with Rotana, and guests can rightly anticipate a magical atmosphere at the concert.

Season 22 of Global Village has witnessed concerts by some of the most popular and adored singers and artistes from across the world. Fans have appreciated the amazing performances and the incredible atmosphere that the concerts bring and have attended them in ever increasing numbers. Elissa is one of the most famous stars in the Middle East with one of the largest fan bases and her concerts usually sell out within hours of announcement. The concert will include a selection of her most famous songs including ‘Asaad Wahda', ‘Halet Hob', ‘Saharna Ya Leil' and other classics.

Elissa broke into the Lebanese music scene in 1999 with ‘Baddy Doub', a Lido produced album filmed as a music video that went on to become a major debut success. Her career took off with its hits including a song performed with French singer Gerard Ferry. Her second album, ‘The Last of Maak', featured the mega hit ‘Betghib Betrouh', performed with Ragheb Alama. She released her third album ‘Ayshalak' in 2002 and her fourth album in 2004, ‘Ahla Donia', which was followed by ‘Bastanak'.

Elissa was the highest-selling female Middle Eastern artist for 2005, 2006 and 2010, and the first Lebanese singer to receive the World Music Award for Best Selling Middle Eastern Artist in 2006. She has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. In December 2012, she was selected as a judge for ‘X Factor', an Arabic music competition, which aired for four months.

The Global Village concert series continues in its 22nd Season with a performance that starts every Friday at 9 pm at its signature Main Cultural Stage, which has seen a series of sound and video effects improvements to create an atmosphere of unparalleled celebration. All concerts are included in the price of Global Village's entry tickets for AED 15.
