Four Menswear Trends You Need to Know for Spring/Summer

SS17 will be a season of contrasts, with Splash's menswear range showcasing key themes of 90's Nostalgia, Soft Grunge, Military Mania, and Indigo & Beyond. Inspired by 90s graphic styling teamed with modern minimalism, this collection is a mash-up of couture hikers, Nineties streetwear, a stylish sea breeze, the return of sportswear alliances. Each of the styles is taken up a notch with the right footwear pairing from Shoe Mart's seasonal collection.

CAMOUFLAGE
Less a trend, more a seasonally updated staple, the military print remains something every man needs in his wardrobe; no doubt bolstered by the come-about of green as 2017's colour of the year. At Centrepoint's SS17 collection the military look is emerging with in both pants and jackets paired with high-top sneakers to complete the look.
 

90S STREETWEAR
Fashion trendsetters love to regularly revisit the minimalist Nineties as the look will never go out of style.  At Centrepoint, denim is staying strong this season with a range of denim shirts and jackets in a colour palette that includes blue and grey with key pieces include waterfall shrugs and shoulder drop tees. Statement bomber jackets are featured prevalently in street style in vivid shades of black and navy bombers.

WIDE LEG TROUSERS
The wide leg trouser has become somewhat of a staple in men's wardrobes over the last few seasons. With its relaxed fit and smart look the wide leg trousers is a spring/summer trend to watch out for! This versatile style piece can be paired with a formal shirt and formal leather loafers for a more sophisticated look or dressed down with simple tee and comfortable trainers.

PASTELS
Pastels ranging from sky blue to soft tangerine, coral to lemon sherbet, cobalt blue, and blazing yellow make a serious comeback this season. Key Pieces in the collection include waterfall shrugs, loose polo shirts paired with casual canvas slip-ons from Shoemart' s trendy Spring Summer footwear range.
