Etisalat Academy offers eSummer for children

PARENTS from across the UAE can avail of the superb facilities of the Etisalat Academy this summer to entertain and educate their children at the 8th eSummer.

The Dubai based Etisalat Academy's exciting eSummer programme will take place between June 22 and July 31.

eSummer is designed for children aged between 6 to 12 years and will include activities supporting the Islamic and national culture as well as fun, sporting, social, environmental, health, safety and educational activities. Participating families will benefit and have full access to all the facilities that the Academy has to offer, such as the swimming pools, playgrounds, library and computer labs.

The event will give a special focus on autism and children with other special needs this year. The Etisalat Academy will hold two separate days during the programme to celebrate with these children and their families. This year's programme will be even bigger and more exciting than previous years thanks to the support of McDonald's UAE, National Food Products Company (NFPC), Union National Bank, Baker, Oman Insurance, Galadari Group (Baskin Robins), Children City, Discovery Center Sharjah, Toyworld, Dubai Civil Defense, the Ministry of Education, Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department and the Ministry of Health.

General Manager at the Etisalat Academy Dr Doaa Fares said: "The eSummer programme is an opportunity for parents and children to learn in a fun environment. We are delighted to invite families from across the UAE to enroll and take part ­ helping them to enjoy new experiences and make many new friends."

Commenting on the programme, Rafic Fakih, managing director of McDonald's UAE said: "We are pleased to partner with Etisalat Academy and to support this valuable programme as it falls in line with McDonald's commitment towards children's education and its drive to engage them in activities that will enrich their knowledge and health awareness and encourage them to adopt active lifestyles."

Emily Billotti, Events and PR manager Oasis Water Brand of NFPC, said: "Oasis Water is committed to educating kids about the importance of hydration in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, especially with summer just around the corner. Through our participation in this programme we are sure that we ill help kids develop healthy habits and an appreciation for safety and culture."

The daily activities will include learning the basics of using a PC and art classes in painting, colouring, design, crafts, stories. Also on offer are sports training sessions in swimming, karate, football, basketball, tennis, exercises and martial arts.

Transportation will be made available for the children to and from the academy's premises.
