UAE to introduce four new types of visas

UAE to introduce four new types of visas Starting from August 1, UAE will have four new types of visit visas and a new fee structure for different types of visit visas. This announcement was made by Federal Naturalisation and Residency Department (FNRD) in Abu Dhabi. As per the amendment, there will be two types of visit visas. The visa for the long stay (three months) would cost Dhs 1,000 and the visa for the short stay, which is a period of 1 month, would cost Dhs 500. Both these visas cannot be renewed.

The new fees for the six-month multiple entry visa is Dhs 2,000. Those who propose to travel under this scheme will not be allowed to stay for more than a period of 14 days in the country on each visit. This visa can be renewed for a period of six months on payment of Dhs 2,000. The mission visa would allow a person to stay for three months and would cost him/her Dhs 200. The transit visa would allow a person to stay for 14 days and would cost him/her Dhs 100. Both are non-renewable. For GCC residents, visit visas will be issued for a period of one month and would cost Dhs 100. The visa could be renewed for another month for a fee of Dhs 500.

For those accompanying GCC nationals, visit visas will be issued for a period of one month and could be renewed for a period of one month. The visa could be renewed for another month for a fee of Dhs 200.

The time frame of the new education visas would be fixed depending on the universities' courses and programs taken by the students. Each authorized academic institute must apply to issue visas for that particular course. This visa would come to Dhs1,000 and could be renewed for a fee of Dhs 500.

The treatment visas would be issued to expatriates who want to come to the country for medical treatment and would cost Dhs 1,000. The period of stay is three months and could be renewed for another three months at a cost of Dhs 500. The tourism visas would cost Dhs100 and would allow the person a one-month stay and could be renewed for another month for Dhs 500. At the time of issuance, travel and tourism agencies would have to pay a refundable guarantee of Dh1,000 per visa.

For people who are attending conferences and exhibitions, visit visas would be issued for a fee of Dhs 100. The duration of the visa is one month and would be non-renewable.

VISA FEE STRUCTURE a) Multiple entry visas (6 months): Dhs 2,000. Can be renewed for another 6 months on payment of Dhs 2,000.
b) Long Stay (3 months): Dhs 1,000. Non renewable.
c) Short Stay (1 month): Dh 500. Non renewable.
d) Mission Visa (3 months): Dh 200. Non renewable.
e) Transit visa (14 days): Dh 100. Non renewable.
f) Visit Visa for GCC residents (1 month): Dh 100. Renewable for another month on payment of Dh 500.
g) Education visa (1 month): Dhs 1,000. Renewable on paying Dhs 500.
h) Tourism visa (1 month): Dhs 100. Renewable for another month at a cost of Dhs 500.
i) Medical treatment visa (3 months): Dhs 1,000. Renewable for another 3 months on payment of Dh 500.
