CONDITIONS FOR TRAINING
  1. Karate training is for the development of the spirit and character of a person and should not be wrongly associated with other arts which appear to be similar but are in fact totally different from Karate.
  2. Students of Karate should develop patience, tolerance and humility.
  3. Karate is "Sport" and is not meant to be used for purpose of fighting.
  4. Karate is an art of self-defence and should not be used indiscriminately. Provocation is not an excuse for using Karate. It should be used only as a defence against physical attack, and even under such circumstances it should be used with restraint and without malice.
  5. Karate is not for show, and should not be trained with the intention of showing off. It should only be exhibited for educational and charitable purposes.
  6. Karate does not emphasise the breaking of bricks, planks or other hard objects, although the ability to do so comes naturally to a person with sufficient training in Karate.
  7. Karate lays stress on "Speed of movements and Keenness" of mind.
  8. Karate training is the training of a clean mind in a healthy body. Body building exercises in Karate are just as important as the practice of striking, punching and kicking.
  9. Karate students should develop good manners and respect for the elders.
  10. While all possible precautions are taken, the owners and instructors shall not be responsible for any accidents before, during or after the training of the trainees and students. Trainees and students who join the training do so at their own risk.
  11. Trainees should not disturb the classes but should show discipline and attention during training.
  12. Persons with criminal records or of bad character will not be accepted or retained for Karate training.
  13. Persons who use Karate to bully or for brawls in public will be expelled from the training centre.
  14. The monthly training fee should be paid on or before the 5th day of each calender month, failing which a trainee may not be permitted to take part in the training.
  15. A trainee who gives prior notice of his intention to be absent from the training centre shall not be liable for the training fees for those months during which he absents himself.
  16. If the trainee does not give prior notice of his intention to be absent from the training centre, his name will be taken off from the attendance register after three months.
  17. If the trainee intends to join again, he has to either pay the training fee fully for the period he absents himself or pay the admission fee to get readmitted.
  18. A trainee may resign from the training centre by giving prior notice to the Chief Instructor / Authorized Instructor / Instructor.
  19. Membership should be renewed by paying the annual renewal fee every year as long as the trainee wishes to remain a member of the Shorin Ryu International Seibukan Karate.
