The new visit visa rule strictly obliges the person who wants to issue a visit visa to submit his renting contract or the renting contract of a first degree relative, disclosed Dr Colonel Abdullah Ali Saeed Bin Sahoo, Director of the Sharjah Naturalisation and Residency Department.
Dr Colonel Sahoo noted that the new decision is not considered a penalty that will prevent any person from bringing his family but is considered a decision in favour of families.
When asked about the visit visa procedures that will be taken for people living in shared accommodation who are adversely affected by the new rule he noted that no particular category of people with certain careers are exempted from the implementation of the law and that rule applies to everyone.
"People willing to obtain a visit visa must be earning a monthly salary not less than Dhs4,000 and that the passport of the sponsored person should be valid for six month period. The sponsor must also present his attested accommodations renting contract or the renting contract by the name of his either parents, brothers.
In case the sponsor is married he can also present the renting contract of his parents-in-law or by the name of his wife's sister or brother. The sponsored person must also attain the health fitness certificate in case they are above the age of 18."
It is worth mentioning that Sharjah Municipality has recently approved shared accommodation among family members that should not exceed three families in one accommodation and that the accommodation of each family should be designed in a way to ensure the privacy of each family.
