At last, winter is almost at a close, and the new season brings hot new trends. AW presents the hottest spring/summer 2009 trends, straight from international catwalks.
MAC's Hydra Luminous trend is great for us Gulf ladies. our shiny faces, brought on by the intense heat, needn't be something to be ashamed of. In fact, it was all the rage at the
Paris fashion week with all the uber hot designers (including our old friend Karl Lagerfeld) wanting their models looking wet and dewy.

Anchor the look by applying Eye Kohl in Teddy to achieve the shape and give a waxy base into which a trio of bronze pigments can adhere to.
Add an angelic shimmer to the inner eyes with Colour Ready Eye Shadow in Bitter or
White Frost and finish off with Push pigment in platinum or Prep and Prime powder in silver dusk over a cream colour base in pearl for the most luminous effect.
For an instant eye update, dab a little Clear Gloss Texture to your lids. A wash of clear gloss over lids instantly makes the eye feel modern. Another MAC pro tip is to use a lighter shade of well-defined studio sculpt foundation down the centre of the face, which gives the illusion of standing under perfect lighting.
You're embarrassing me!
Cream blushes are all the rage this season, according to Shiseido's Dick Page. “Blush is to the complexion what vitamins are to your health,” he quips. Fresh, vibrant faces with a little colour to the lips and eyes are perfect, timeless spring looks that keep you looking young and effortless.

For the shade, select the colour that is closest to the glow of your skin after you exercise. In general, fair complexions will opt for a pink or rosy shade while darker complexions, where natural blushing is not so readily visible, can use golden or coppery shades. The texture is up to you – but if you use a powder type, you have to powder your face first to make sure it blends perfectly.
Apply the blusher on the apple of your cheek that appears when you smile, blend away at the hairline and dust lightly onto the bridge of the nose.
“Be daring in daylight,” says Clarins makeup artist director, Thibault Vabre. The Nature Temptations look is all about make-up that breaks the traditional idea of a ‘natural' daytime look. The natural temptress is an aquatic femme fatale who symbolises the woman of today – who dares to emphasise her beauty with ease.

Eyes: Use Eye Pencil 09 Ultramarine as kohl to set the eye like a precious stone. Around the eye, apply the turquoise shade from the Eye Colour Palette and then blend purple and pink at the outer corner. The turquoise is then intensified with Single Eye Colour 15 Iris blue. Eyebrows are shaped with Eyebrow Pencil 03 Soft Blonde and lashes are coated with Wonder Volume Mascara 06 Wonder Blue.
Complexion: The translucent backdrop enhances the intensity of the eye makeup. Instant Light Complexion Perfector 02 Champagne Shimmer acts like a light catcher. Powder Blush 80 Raspberry gives a ‘baby doll' touch to highlight a fresh complexion.
Lips: Lip Liner 03 Nude discreetly shapes the lip contour. By combining the shine of a gloss with the precise application and lasting hold of a classic lipstick like Joli Rouge Brilliant 08 Pink sugar, you are guaranteed luminous stay-true shine.
