Event inaugurated by His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan and featured over 40 Leading Cancer experts across the globe to highlight benefits of early detection and prevention of cancer

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – 1 October 2016:  Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, 4th International Oncology Conference commenced at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Canal in Abu Dhabi.

The first day of the Conference received overwhelming response with participation of around 40 eminent speakers from the leading cancer Institutes of USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Netherlands, Spain, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and United Arab Emirates presenting a range of cutting edge scientific sessions to discuss latest trends and technological advancement in diagnosis, prevention and clinical management of cancer.

While addressing the audience, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahayan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development said, “This is a country committed to improving the health of its population and insuring that healthcare is of the highest quality and you are here in Abu Dhabi to strengthen your ability to improve the chances for scouting out cancers before they become untreatable.” 

Dr.Shamsheer Vayalil, Conference President and Managing Director, VPS Healthcare said, “Today, Cancer as a disease is on the top of the health agenda of all the countries and collective efforts, collaboration and joint forces worldwide are leading to huge developments in the initial diagnosis and therapeutic care for cancer patients using innovative treatment and advancing technologies, however, early diagnosis of cancer is critical to increase the chances of positive patient outcome and reduction in overall treatment costs. The conference attracted over 800 Delegates from various countries which provided them an opportunity to keep pace with the knowledge in the field of Oncology.

Keeping in view the diverse audience profile, the conference agenda reflects edge to edge synergy with its theme covering the key topics of global interest. The Conference is accredited for 14 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours from Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) and will benefit doctors and healthcare professionals from various disciplines to gain insights of early detection and prevention of cancer.
